SSA Grassroots Coach of the Year
Kat Huxley has won the Sask Soccer Grassroots Coach of the Year
On March 23rd, 2019 at the SSA Awards night in Regina Kat Huxley was awarded the Sask Soccer Grassroots Coach of Year.
Kat is the current BYSI President, Competitive Coordinator & BUFC Head Coach. Kat has been coaching since she was 18 years old and playing soccer since she was 4 years old.
Many of Kat's athletes who she coaches go onto to play for NAIG and/or are scouted for colleges.
In Indoor & Outdoor soccer Kat is either the Head Coach or Assistant Coach of all her teams in the Competitive Program (Under 9/11 team, Under 13/15 team, Under 17 & Under 19 teams). She trains the kids every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday at various locations in the Battlefords.
Some Accomplishments include:
2015 grass roots team of the year, multiple medals (tournaments and Provincials)
Helped created BUFC in 2016 by merging programs together.
C level trained licence
Kat transports kids if they can't get to practices and tournaments. She often helps then with sponsorship and is always available to talk to the kids or help them on or off the field as any good mentor would. Kat is a roll model for her players and BYSI is very proud to have Kat involved in BYSI. Congrats Kat, you certainly deserve it.
